can i use a transformer as setp up as well as step down transformer
l m having a transformer having primary of 230 vac and secondary of 12 vac.
by using secondary as primary and giving 12vac input can l get 230vac
at secondary? is it possible?
You need to be awarded about the mutual inductance between
primary and secondary coils
Yes, of course it will work, however you won't be able to draw
much power from it.
Of course. But before doing that check the currents that are
required for the load. Usually, appliances running at 12 VAC are also low
power, and those that run at 230 VAC are high power.
As long as you use the voltages the windings are rated for,
this should work. You will run into trouble if you try to use the
transformer to boost voltages higher than 12v.
Yes, but it may not work great based on how it is wound. Step
up or step down is based on the ratio of the windings.
